Who is Deb The Doula
Deb The Doula is a labour of love of Debbie Harley. Deb is passionate about babies and has decades of experience supporting mothers of newborn babies. Deb started her childcare career as a nursery nurse in England. She completed her NNEB nursery nursing certificate, a two year course with extensive coverage of childcare best practices from newborn to 5 years. During training her placements included working on a maternity ward, ICU and nursery schools. After training Debbie worked for 12 years as a nanny looking after clients new born babies often having sole charge (without the childrens parents) including flying solo, babe in arms, to and from the U.S. Having assisted the parents in successfully raising 7 children, she gave birth to and raised three of her own.
Now her own kids have left home, Deb wishes to pass the benefit of her wisdom and decades of experience to mothers encountering the magic, trials and tribulations of motherhood for the first time. Newly trained in the latest evidence based knowlege Deb completed her postpartum Doula training with DONA International in 2018. While Deb provides services to all mother’s of newborn children, including twins and multiples, she specializes in supporting mothers of children with Down syndrome (trisomy 21).
